National Instruments LabVIEW® Support

LabVIEW® from National Instruments has been an increasingly popular programming environment for developing software applications. At ECS, increasing use of LabVIEW has been driven directly from our sponsors, as well as by our own choice. Typically our Design Center has several LabVIEW based application developments in progress.

Some recent examples of LabVIEW® applications developed at the ECS:

  • User interface and support application for PCMCIA based Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR)
  • User interface and support application for PCI based Precision Impedance meter
  • User interface and support application for PCI based Precision Multi-meter
  • User interface and support application for High Speed Cable Eye Pattern Analysis System
  • User interface and support application for High Speed Cable Spurious EMI Radiation Measurement System
  • User interface and support application for Portable System to Measure Steam Pipe Erosion
  • Enhancements to Electrophoresis System for Rapid DNA Sequencing

LabVIEW® Instructional Seminar Series

In support of LabVIEW® at Penn State, ECS offers free introductory “hands-on” training classes. In cooperation with National Instruments, attendees will experience real hardware and LabVIEW’s new software tools in the ECS training center.

Discover the power of National Instruments LabVIEW 8.0, the industry leading graphical programming environment designed for data acquisition, data analysis, and instrumentation. Both basic and advanced training course are offered (see course descriptions).

We hope the seminar series will expand with time. Seminar attendance will focus on training for faculty and staff, however graduate students can apply for remaining seating. Space is limited to 9 participants/session. Reservations will be made on a first-come basis. A waiting list will be maintained in case there are cancellations.

Demand for these classes has been relatively high. So, if you need to cancel, please inform us as soon as possible so someone from the waiting list can attend.
